There are numerous old buildings and sheds around the region. Some get repurposed while others rejoin the earth eventually
The fields and paddocks are utilised for a range of agriculture: cattle, horses, sheep or alpaccas, wine growing and other enterprises.
Sanatorium Lake Mt Macedon
The State Park at the top of Mt Macedon is a stunning place to visit for walks or picnics. There are many tracks that wind their way around the mountain and down into the village of Mt Macedon

The region is a wonderful mix of Australian Native and Exotic plants. Numerous gardens have open days that are well worth visiting.
